Images Art Gallery began as idea in the minds of Marie Pantuosco Alpert and her late husband Lennie in the mid 70's as Marie's career as a batik artist grew with representation in galleries in New York and New Jersey. She had studied painting at Hunter College with notable artists Robert Motherwell, Dong Kingman and William Baziotes. It was also in the 70's that her corporate career took a turn that furthered the idea of owning a gallery. She was chosen to select and place art in her company's new Manhattan headquarters - 500,000 square feet of executive offices and public spaces. The dual experiences of working with the galleries where her paintings were shown and the choosing and placing art in the workplace made it a certainty.
Custom framing - the designing of how a particular piece should be showcased - is an art in itself. At Images, framing is an act of creative inspiration - a collaboration between the designer and the client. In most frame shops, the client works with a technician who knows the craft of assembling the pieces. Here at Images, you receive the benefit of working with an artist who guides you through the choices to an inspired finished product - your art in the perfect setting. And it costs no more for perfection because we all use the same materials and resources.
